Day of the dead is a Mexican holiday for remembering family and friends who have died. Originally observed at the end of summer the holiday has been moved to October 31st and November 1st to coincide with the Catholic holiday of Allhallowtide: All Saints' Eve, (also known as Halloween).

José Guadalupe PosadaJose is now known for his satirical and political artworks in the mid to late 1800's, though it was not until the 1920's when his work became more widely known. Now his calaveras (skulls) can be seen throughout Day of the Dead celebrations.
